John Lewis National Day of Commemoration and Action with Candlelight Vigil
About this event
Allegheny Commons Park West, at the George Washington Monument, at the corner of West North Avenue and Arch Street. Map..
Free on-street parking, free food, and music from a DJ. The public and local elected officials have been invited.

July 17 marks the 4th anniversary of the passing of the late Congressman John Lewis. With the ongoing attacks on democracy, our goal is to use this opportunity to bring the public together with their Elected Officials to call on Congress to pass national voting rights legislation such as the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, the Freedom to Vote Act, the Native American Voting Rights Act, and DC Statehood.
Sponsored by Voting is Power Pittsburgh Regional Coalition of which LWVPGH is a member. League members will distribute voter education materials. To volunteer, email Judy Clack: voterservice@lwvpgh.org
