End Prison Gerrymandering in PA: A Fair Districts Forum
About this event
People in prison aren’t allowed to vote in the places where they’re incarcerated, yet the US Census Bureau counts them in those locations rather than the places they come from. This prison gerrymandering funnels political power away from communities impacted by incarceration to legislators who have prisons in their districts. In Pennsylvania, this practice is responsible for creating the equivalent of whole new PA House districts in areas surrounding prisons while taking away political representation from impacted communities.
Come hear about how we can end this practice and work together to ensure fair district maps so all our votes count the same.
This is the SW PA meeting, but you can attend a different region's session if it fits your schedule. See FairDistrictsPA.com for more details.
